1. What is phoneringsong.com?
phoneringsong.com is a UK-based independent web site that started out in 2000 offering free Composer ring tones for Nokia mobile phones. We've now added Sony Ericsson Composer tones as well as true tones, polyphonic ring tones, logos, picture messages and other cool mobile phone related stuff.

2. How do I get the free ring tones?
Some Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones have a built-in Composer in them and through a series of key presses, you can input a tune to have as your ring-tone. we show you what keys to press, in what order, to get particular tunes (for more details, visit the Nokia instructions page) or the Sony Ericsson instructions page. We also offer free ringtones when you phone up to roder any other ring tone. See the polyphonic and monophonic ring tone pages for more details

3. Is my phone compatible with composer ringtones?
The Nokia Composer Ring Tones are compatible with certain Nokia phones which include:

2100, 3210, 3310, 3330, 3390, 3395 3650, 3410, 5210, 7650 and the 8250. Other models may have the composer on them. If you know of a model then please let us know.

For details of compatibilty for other services, please see the compatibility page.

4. My phone doesn't have a Composer on it. Can I buy it or download it from somewhere?
At the moment it is not possible to obtain the Composer from anywhere. It only comes as standard on the phones mentioned above.

5. What does P&H mean?
From the Instructions page....

Some Nokia codes feature the phrase P&H followed by a number. This means Press and Hold that particular number until a dot (.) appears between the length and the note.

Example: 0 P&H3 2 = 0, press and hold 3, 2
This gives a display of:
4- 4.e1 4d1

6. When is the site going to be updated?
We try to get the site updated every week. However we can't always guarantee this so the best way to find out when it has been updated is to join the mailing list. Click here for details on how to join.

7. You've updated the site but I can't find the new tunes?
If you are unable to see the new tunes then you may have to refresh your computer's cache. This is done by pressing CTRL + F5 together when on the site.

8. I'd like a particular song as a ring tone, can I suggest it to you?
Yes. However we do receive lots of requests so we cannot guarantee when, or if, a tune will get done. Before requesting a tune though, check to make sure it's not on the site already! See the Contacts page for details of where to send your request to.

9. I've composed a version of a song, can I send it to you?
If you want! We welcome songs that aren't already on the site.

10. How much do the polyphonic ring tones/pictures cost?
The cost of the ring tones (and picture products) depends on what country you are calling from. The cost of the phone call is stated underneath the number that you have to dial. The cost of ordering by SMS is 3 x 1.50 (or equivalent). We also run services that allow you to receive a ring tone every day and occasionally have other special offers that allow you to get ring tones more cheaply. We currently offer a service that offers you ring tones at 30p each provifing that you sign up to receive a minimum of ten ring tones (costing 3.00)

11. I've ordered a Logo/Ringtone/Picture Message, why haven't I received it yet?
We try to get all orders out with in the hour but sometimes this may not be possible. If you are experiencing problems with Logos, Picture Messages or Ringtones either call the helpline for your particular country or send an email to support@mms3.com with the following information:
» Your mobile number:
» Country:
» Network:
» Phone Type:
» Item Code Requested:
» Description of item:
» Date of request:
» Time of request (approx):

12. When I try to view more logos/picture messages in each section it keeps bringing up the same page. Why?
You need to have cookies enabled on your PC to see the whole selection. To do this click on Internet Options in the Tools menu in Internet Explorer (version 6), select Privacy and move the slider bar down to one of the two lowest positions.

13. When I dial the number to order, the phone either makes a bleeping sound or says number not in use.
This will be because your provider has premium rate barring on your account, either phone them up direct to lift the bar, or use another source, i.e. your landline BT phone.

14. I ordered a product, why do I keep receiving text messages?
We sometimes run special promotions where to qualify for the specific deal you have to subscribe to a particular service. This subscription can be stopped by either texting STOP to 88866 or by texting STOPMOBSI to 88866 depending on what product you have ordered. PLEASE NOTE THE 88866 NUMBER ONLY APPLIES TO THE UK. For more details select the product once more and click on any flag in the pop-up window and read the instructions at the bottom of the next page.
